About Prosperity Church / Mallard Creek
Where it is: Northeast Charlotte, centered on Prosperity Church Road at I-485. The area runs north to Eastfield Road and the Cabarrus County line, and south to Beard Road and Mallard Creek Road.
History: Named for Prosperity Church, founded in 1789 and on its current site since 1795. The I-485 loop was finished here in 2015, the same year City Council adopted the Prosperity Hucks Area Plan that set up Prosperity Village.
Main commercial areas: Prosperity Village center at Prosperity Church Road and I-485 (with Publix); Eastfield Village at Eastfield Road and Prosperity Church Road.
Parks and greenways: Mallard Creek Community Park; Clarks Creek Nature Preserve (98 acres); Mallard Creek and Clarks Creek Greenways.
