Buying or Selling on the SC Side
South Carolina taxes an owner-occupied primary home at a 4% assessment ratio (6% for second homes and rentals), so apply for the primary-residence rate with the county after you close. Most commutes into Charlotte run on I-77 or US-521, so test the drive at rush hour before you buy.
I’m licensed in both North and South Carolina, so I can help you buy or sell on either side of the state line. Read what that means if you’re buying near the state line.
