About Fort Mill
Fort Mill is in York County, South Carolina, just across the state line from Charlotte along I-77. Baxter Village, Kingsley and the Anne Springs Close Greenway are here, and Tega Cay sits next door on Lake Wylie.
Homes range from townhomes to large single-family homes, with a lot of newer construction and HOA communities. South Carolina taxes an owner-occupied primary home at a 4% assessment ratio (6% for second homes and rentals), so apply for the primary-residence rate with the county after you close. Check the I-77 commute into Charlotte at rush hour before you buy.
