Where it is: East of Uptown, just south of Plaza Midwood. Bounded by Central Ave, Briar Creek, Independence Blvd and the CSX railroad.
History: Its streets, including Commonwealth Ave and Westmoreland Ave, were part of the 1913 Chantilly subdivision, which Independence Blvd later split in two.
Main commercial areas: Central Ave, The Plaza, Commonwealth Ave, Briar Creek Rd.
Parks and greenways: Veterans Memorial Park, about 19 acres, in the middle of the neighborhood.
