About Villa Heights
Where it is: Northeast of Uptown, between NoDa and Plaza Midwood. Bordered by Parkwood Ave, The Plaza, Matheson Ave and N. Davidson St.
History: Developed around 1900 by Clayton O. Brown, who bought the tract and marketed it as Villa Heights. It had 32 houses by 1905, and streetcar lines reached it around 1910. Its street grid follows the old County Home Road, now Parkwood Ave.
Main commercial areas: N. Davidson St, The Plaza, Parkwood Ave.
Parks and greenways: Cordelia Park (2100 N. Davidson St) has a pool, sprayground and trails, and links to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway’s 1-mile Cordelia Park to 12th St segment.
